On November 6, Balance Massage School is hosting Caitlin Perry of Core Connections for a day of learning and practicing.

In the morning (9-12) she will be leading a workshop exploring Abdominal Massage for Endometriosis. As an abdominal massage teacher, Caitlin gets this question all the time: what techniques can we use with our clients with endo?

Caitlin emphasizes that it’s less about technique and more about connection and compassion. By reading the signals of the body, and having an understanding of what the science is saying and what our friends with this disease are experiencing, we can be a solid part of their healing support system.

We'll discuss:

  • the current scientific understanding of endometriosis

  • emerging theories (women's health research is behind but trying to catch up)

  • who it affects, where it shows up in the body, what it's like to have it.

  • the 4 stages

And we will learn:

  • ways to work with the abdomen to support people with endometriosis

  • techniques I find myself coming back to again and again with my endo clients.

  • How to connect and tune into their needs so we’re reading the body not the diagnosis.

Note- During the afternoon (1-4pm) Caitlin will be running an Abdominal Massage Student Clinic for alumni of her Abdominal Massage Intensive to be able to practice their skills with observation and feedback. If you have not yet learned with Caitlin but feel ready and interested in practicing Abdominal Massage in a clinical setting, reach out to Caitlin at coreconnectionsvt@gmail.com so you can talk about whether this would be a good fit.

The cost for the morning is $50 and $100 for the whole day.
